The Centurion Speech Team returned from the Class C2 state contest on March 26th ranked number four in its class and holding its first individual gold in almost forty years. “This is our first gold since 1989,” noted Centura Head Speech Coach Kris Simon on Monday, “and actually our second ever.” In 1989, Celeste Ripp took the gold in Serious Prose.

BROEDY STARKEY MEMORIAL EASTER EGG HUNT Over 10,000 eggs gathered at annual hunt More than 10,000 eggs were gathered Sunday at the Broedy Starkey Memorial Easter Egg Hunt, marking the largest number in the event’s five-year history. On Sunday, in the pastures surrounding the home of Broedy’s father, Mike Starkey, in rural Cushing, thousands of eggs were collected in just under two hours.
