Body Elba held their annual Fourth of July celebration on Monday. Highlighting the celebration was the recognition of Roland and Julie Spilinek for their community service. The presentation was made by the Village of Elba on Monday evening at the Elba Community Center.

Body As of Sunday morning, all three rivers are flowing lower this week. The South Loup River is now flowing at 173 cubic-feet-per-second (cfs); last week: 232 cfs. The Middle Loup River is flowing at 755 cfs; last week: 1,040 cfs.

GCA Days to extend country’s birthday bash

Body St. Paul’s annual Grover Cleveland Alexander (GCA) Days celebration returns this weekend with a patriotic theme, several new events, and a few logistical changes as organizers prepare for three days of community festivities.

West Nile case confirmed in state

Body The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) confirmed last month the first human case of West Nile virus (WNV) in Nebraska for the 2026 season. The case was identified within the North Central District Health Department jurisdiction.
