On a stormy afternoon, the St. Paul girls’ tennis team once again found themselves making the trek west, and once again the team stumbled against some tough competition.
After notching back-to-back wins over Bancroft-Rosalie/ Pender and Twin River, the St. Paul/Palmer baseball team has officially put their early-season slump behind them. The Cats extended their winning streak to three games after powering their way to an 8-4 road victory over Fairbury last Thursday evening.
The St. Paul Country Club may not be the most challenging course that the Centura boys’ golf team will play this season, but on Thursday, howling northly winds made the round at the St. Paul Invite a tough one to tackle.
Caden Ruhl came home from last Thursday’s Ron Priebe Invite at Gibbon with a cache of hardware, including one of the Centurions’ few gold medals. On the track at Gibbon High School, Ruhl paced the field in the boys’ 300-meter hurdles, with the senior tackling the timbers in 44.51 to win one of the toughest races of the day.
The Central Valley links crew may not have come away with any hardware from last week’s St. Paul Invite, but the Cougars still managed to hold their own in a field full of talented competition.
Seven St. Paul students were recently named to the 2024 LouPlatte Conference Academic All-Conference Team. In order to be named to the conference’s all-academic team, a student must achieve an ACT score of 26 or higher.
After suffering consecutive losses to state-rated opponents and falling to 1-5 on the season, the St. Paul/Palmer Cats got back on track last week with back-to-back wins over Bancroft- Rosalie/Pender and Twin River.
