Centura survives last-second comeback by Summerland, wins OT thriller The more things change, the more they stay the same. That adage could be the Centura girls’ basketball team’s motto this season, as, despite losing the bulk of its starting lineup from last year’s state championship team, the Centurions will be back in Lincoln next week to defend their title.

COUGARS BATTLE AT STATE

FIVE CENTRAL VALLEY WRESTLERS competed at last week’s NSAA State Wrestling Championships, with three members of the team—Dallas Wadsworth, Jairo Lazos, and Grady Kelly—earning hardware. Wadsworth placed fourth, while Lazos and Kelly each finished in fifth place. As a team, the Cougars scored forty-six points to tie for tenth place. Above, Lazos battles Shelby-Rising City’s Jett Vrbka during Friday night’s semifinal round. At left, Luke Shoemaker went into the second period opposite Luke Harper of Sutherland.
