On a foggy night in January, the goal for the Centura boys’ wrestling team was still crystal clear. Last Thursday night, Centura hosted three other teams—two of which call the Centurions’ own conference home—for a late-season quadrangular, with the Centura wrestling team hoping to use the advantage presented by their home mats as a springboard for success as the postseason looms.

For the third time in just as many years, the St. Paul Wildcats are LouPlatte Conference champions.

In a competitive conference, the Centura boys’ wrestling team has traditionally not been a topic of conversation at the LouPlatte Conference Wrestling Tournament. That all changed on Saturday.

Despite being challenged early on, the Centura boys’ basketball team managed to put some distance between themselves and Gibbon on the scoreboard in the final three frames of last week’s regular season LouPlatte Conference matchup.
