The Elba Bluejays were hoping to end 2025 with their first victory of the season, and, early on in last Tuesday’s game against High Plains, it looked as though the Purple and Gold were on track to accomplish that goal.
After eight minutes of play in last Friday’s game between Arcadia/Loup City and St. Paul girls, the Rebels and Wildcats combined for just three made field goals. Despite that sluggish start, the Red and Black found momentum and came away with a 37-33 victory.
The St. Paul Wildcats were hoping to leave Loup City feeling holly and jolly; however, the Blue and Gold instead exited Sherman County feeling as if they had found coal in their stockings.

The Elba Bluejays and the Ansley-Litchfield Spartans entered last week’s game in Howard County searching for the same thing: their first victory of the season. Last Tuesday night, Ansley- Litchfield was the team that put their first mark in the win column, as the Spartans slipped past the Bluejays 5343.
Elba moves to 2-0 on the year with win The Elba Bluejays jumped out to an undefeated start to their season last Tuesday night, as the Purple and Gold capitalized on a pair of big performances from junior leaders to help the team top Ansley-Litchfield 43-28. In their second outing of the season, the Bluejays managed to keep one step ahead of Ansley- Litchfield throughout last week’s game.
