Taken from the files of The Wolbach Messenger Ten Years Ago, 2016 Congressman Adrian Smith welcomed the Central Valley High School Class of 2016 to the United States Capital on Wednesday, March 16th, during their visit to Washington, D.C. Twenty Years Ago, 2006 Spring arrived on Monday, right in the middle of a three-day snow storm that officially dropped twenty- four inches of snow in Wolbach, containing just over two inches of moisture.

Wolbach American Legion Unit 236 recently announced that Cayle Grossart, daughter of Chad and Mindy Grossart, will be the unit’s Girls State delegate. Girls State is held in Lincoln from May 31st until June 6th. Cayle is a junior at Central Valley High School in Greeley.

Just days before Severe Weather Awareness Week in Nebraska, Howard County emergency personnel and members of the public had the opportunity to sharpen their storm spotter skills during a free training session last week.

St. Paul’s City Council met Monday evening with a number of items on the agenda…Chuck Schmid was present to ask the city if they would be willing to absorb the cost of electricity and maintenance for a LED time and temperature sign at 7th Avenue and Howard Avenue. The old sign from 1993 quit working and was removed. Over 180 people had signed a petition to ask for the return of the sign.
