A new ag teacher joined St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS) this fall. Emily Luedert, a May graduate of the University of Nebraska—Lincoln (UNL), became part of the district this fall, where she will teach multiple classes, and co-teach Introduction to Agriculture with longtime instructor Boyd Bowder.

A proposed interlocal agreement in which the City of St. Paul would contract with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) for law enforcement—and what impacts such an agreement would have on the county’s already strained 2026–2027 budget— was a major topic of discussion during the regular meeting...

Taken from the files of The Wolbach Messenger Ten Years Ago, 2016 The newly formed Centura/Central Valley softball team won three games and lost one last week. Last Tuesday night, the C/CV Diamonds picked up a 14-8 win over Madison/Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at North Loup .

The Wolbach Senior Citizens met on August 26th at the Wolbach Community Center with two tables of pitch having been played. Paul Nielsen won high, Linda Peer low, and Kathryn Dubas traveling. The senior citizens will meet again on September 30th at 2:00 p.m. at the Wolbach Community Center.

An attempted abduction of an eight-year-old boy occurred in St. Paul on Thursday evening, August 25th…the youngster was on his way to visit a buddy when a masked man, wearing a black shirt, approached the boy.

Looking at the Loup River flows on Sunday afternoon, the South Loup River is up. The river had a flow reading of 157 cubic-feet-per-second. The Middle Loup River is lower than the prior Sunday, at 899 cfs.
