The statewide primary election is less than a week away. Howard County voters will take to the polls next Tuesday, May 12th to decide the outcome of several races and ballot issues.
More than 100 St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS) kindergarten through sixth graders walked to school together last Thursday morning, April 30th as part of St. Paul Public Schools’ (SPPS) Elementary Walk to School Day, an annual spring celebration at the district.
Last week, during the April 28th regular meeting of the Howard County Board of Commissioners, a large portion of roads discussion was dedicated to a bridge on 14th Avenue east of Sherman Road. “We’ve had issues with the bridge washing a little bit, and we just wanted to know what we could do,” said Howard County Highway Superintendent Janet Thomsen last week.
The South Loup River reading has malfunctioning equipment, so there will be no reading until it’s fixed. As of Sunday afternoon, the Middle Loup River is down from last week’s reading of 1,300 cubic-feet-per-second (cfs). It is now 1,080 cfs. The North Loup River is also down from last week, displaying 673 cfs. The baby goslings are growing. Friday late afternoon, Shawn and I decided to give out a call to the turkeys, and one tom gave us an answer.
