Howard County’s lone stop on this year’s Nebraska Passport Program has been busy this summer, welcoming visitors to St. Paul..

Deacon Phil Lukasiewicz, a lifelong Howard County parishioner, was ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Catholic Diocese of Grand Island at the end of May, a milestone in a lifetime of dedication to his parish, and the culmination of a commitment he made to pursue the diaconate more than four years ago. “It’s all about bringing people together in a community of faith,” said the deacon of his calling last month.

The Nebraska Tourism Commission’s 2025 Nebraska Passport has just passed the halfway point. The program, which kicked off on May 1st and runs through the end of September, aims to help travelers discover “hidden gems” across the Cornhusker State.

Ten Years Ago, 2015 Two community projects were completed at Wolbach this summer. A new dock was installed at Cottonwood Park and a new snack stand was erected at the baseball park at Memorial Field.
