The South Loup River has been dropping all week and as of early Sunday evening is flowing at 238 cubic feet per second (cfs). The Middle Loup River was going down most of the week, now it is back up to 973 cfs. The North Loup River has fluctuated all week; Sunday’s reading was at 801 cfs. In my opinion, I have bad news: The mosquitoes are out; and good news: The lightning bugs have returned. I have also noticed more flowers are blooming.

Local organizers of the stop received many favorable comments on the city and hospitality. The school and the Howard County Senior Center provided transportation from the camping site to downtown, swimming pool, motels, and the winery. This year’s riders ranged in age from fourteen to eighty years and represented fifteen states and Canada.
