Grundlovsfest to be held in Dannebrog this weekend

Grundlovsfest gets underway this weekend in Dannebrog, promising to fill the streets of Nebraska’s Danish Capital with laughter, fun, and pride. From turtle races, to antique tractors, music jams, to æbleskiver breakfasts, this year’s lineup promises an event packed with festivity. The festival, which celebrates the signing of Denmark’s Free Constitution in 1849, also commemorates an important local milestone this year: 130 years of Dannebrog Fire and Rescue.

WOLBACH SENIOR CITIZENS GATHER FOR MONTHLY MEETING

The Wolbach Senior Citizens met on May 28th with fourteen guests in attendance. Members played cards and the winners were Mel Fuller, high; Joyce Berney, low; and Dick Peetz, traveling. Bud Vopat had a birthday and members also sang to Mel Fuller, as he won’t be able to join the senior citizens next month. Members of the Wolbach Community Club will meet again on June 25th at 2:00 p.m. at the Wolbach Community Center.

As of Sunday evening, the South Loup River is running at 200 cubic feet per second (cfs). Earlier in the week, it was almost 300 cfs. The Middle Loup River is currently at 1,020 cfs; it had a high of 1,380 this week.
