The South Loup River reading has malfunctioning equipment, so there will be no reading until it’s fixed. As of Sunday afternoon, the Middle Loup River is down from last week’s reading of 1,300 cubic-feet-per-second (cfs). It is now 1,080 cfs. The North Loup River is also down from last week, displaying 673 cfs. The baby goslings are growing. Friday late afternoon, Shawn and I decided to give out a call to the turkeys, and one tom gave us an answer.

VOTERS TO WEIGH CPS BOND

Centura district proposes $18.95 million bond to voters In under two weeks, stakeholders in the Centura School District will decide the future of a number of proposed updates to the home of the Burgundy and Gray. A bond question on the May 12th primary ballot will let district taxpayers approve or reject the issuance of up to $18,950,000 in bonds to help pay for the costs of approximately 49,951 square feet of additions and renovations to Centura Public Schools (CPS).

Eleven local groups to participate in Go Big Give

The thirteenth annual Go Big Give event, bringing Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick counties together in a twenty-four-hour day of giving, will be held next Thursday, May 7th. Put on by the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation and the Heartland United Way, Go Big Give allows participating area nonprofits to raise money and awareness over a twenty-four-hour day of giving, as well as during the pre-give period preceding the event, which will be underway until May 6th.
