Baker, Kramer selected for KHOP program

As communities across the state continue to face health care provider shortages, the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) is investing in students committed to changing that reality. More than sixty high school seniors have been selected to join the Kearney Health Opportunities Program (KHOP) this fall, beginning their academic journeys at UNK with the goal of serving rural Nebraska as future health care professionals.

FOLLOWING FIRE COUNTY ISSUES Extent of damage from Sunday blaze unknown Following a large grass fire that occurred east of Cotesfield on Sunday afternoon, March 8th, Howard County has issued a disaster declaration and declared a state of emergency. The declaration, signed by Howard County Board of Commissioners Chairman Kathy Hirschman on Monday morning, authorizes the chairman to “execute for and on behalf of Howard County the expenditure of emergency funds” and to apply to the State of Nebraska for financial assistance.
