On February 12th, American Legion Unit #236 held Girls State Interviews for Cayle Grossart and Kinley Nelson at the library in Wolbach. One of the girls was chosen to attend Girls State and the other will be an alternate to attend if the first girl isn’t able to go.

Paul Nielsen recently made donations to the Wolbach Fire Department and Rescue Squad and the Wolbach Community Center. Donnie Zoucha recently made a donation to the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach in memory of Larry Zoucha.

The February 17th joint meeting of American Legion Post #236, Sons of the Legion, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #236 met at the Legion. In attendance were six Legion members, one dual member, and three auxiliary members.

After almost seventy years being closed, a portion of Third Street may soon reopen in St. Paul.

A bit of winter came back this past week with the snow and cold. Sunday morning, the South Loup River was up from last Monday’s reading. It was flowing 301 cubic-feetper- second (cfs). The Middle Loup River was down from last week reading 1,580 cfs. The North Loup River has dropped some; the reading is 1,150 cfs. All three rivers have fluctuated in the past week.

To all that thought of me for my 90th birthday: Thank you so much for your letters, cards, gifts, telephone calls, and Facebook wishes. The real surprise was the Zoom with the Methodist church, to talk to some of the members and friends that came to wish me happy birthday. My family had a party here to celebrate with my family and friends in Springfield on Tuesday. Getting older sure has its rewards. I am so blessed to have family and friends to share with in my life.
