MOBILE FOOD PANTRY TO BE HELD IN ST. PAUL MARCH 14

The Howard Greeley County Food Pantry and Foodbank for the Heartland will be sponsoring a Mobile Food Pantry in St. Paul on Saturday, March 14th, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. or until all the food is gone, whichever is sooner. Income guidelines must be met. Families from any county may be served.

Loup Central cuts ribbon on recycling facility

On Wednesday, February 18th, the Loup Central Landfill Association (LCLA) celebrated the completion of its new recycling facility at its landfill site south of Elba with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event marked the culmination of one of the association’s largest infrastructure projects in recent years.

TWO AREA WRESTLERS returned home from the NSAA State Wrestling Championships with gold medals on Saturday. Above, Alex Meinecke, a senior at St. Paul High School, won his second straight title when he secured a 13-3 major decision against Cobe Wells of Broken Bow in the Class C finals at 175 pounds. At left, William Pokorny, a sophomore at Central Valley High School, won the Class D title at 165 pounds after he beat Hayden Lans of Southern Valley by a 14-2 major decision. Pokorny is pictured receiving his gold medal from Central Valley Head Coach Scott Wood.
