The family of Alda Boehle would like to thank everyone for the beautiful cards with such kind and thoughtful expressions of sympathy, flowers, food, calls, hugs, and memorials. The annual Howard County Fair will get underway outside St. Paul next week with a full slate of entertainment, livestock shows, and family- friendly events running from Monday, July 7th, through Sunday, July 13th at the Howard County Fairgrounds.

What an interesting week for the rivers’ flows. We had about .90 inches of rain on the first day, that came very nice. Then, the next day, 4.40 inches came. That put us over five inches of rain. I heard of over seven inches of rain in other places. The South Loup River runs about 200 cubic feet per second (cfs). This past week, it got up to over 3,700 cfs. It’s down some, but not back to 200. The Middle Loup River at St. Paul was about 1,600 cfs and rose as high as 11,100 cfs. It’s back to 2,080 cfs. The North Loup River also had high flows. It reached over 7,000 cfs. As of Sunday evening, the North Loup River is at 2,360 cfs. We didn’t see any airboats on Thursday, just one on Friday.

Rick Layher has not been here yet. Also, the owners of the bank building have not been here recently, and though the yards have been mowed there is no change with the Hamilton or Bennett vacant houses.
