Days Gone By

Dr. Makio Mukia, 68, of Japan was a visitor to the Museum of Nebraska Major League Baseball on Saturday. A retired medical doctor (pathologist), he has been a Major League Baseball fan since he was eight years old and saw the New York Yankees when they visited Japan in 1955. Among the players he saw were Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, and Billy Martin. Loren Studley gave Dr. Mukai the tour. He later wrote a thank you note to Studley saying what a pleasure it was for him to visit the museum. Dr. Mukai, who has been writing a column for a Japanese newspaper, Asahi Shimbun, for the past eight years, plans to feature a column in August on the museum, which will also include photographs of the museum.

| THANK YOU |

Body
I would like to extend a big thank you to Howard County Medical Center and staff. While I was a patient, I could not have gotten better care. Marcus Nielson, P.A., clinic staff, hospital nursing staff, lab x-ray staff, and everyone else involved were the most compassionate and caring group. A big thank you to my kids and my buddy, Ron, who came to visit, and to all those who sent love, texts, phone calls, and prayers. Most importantly, thanks to God, who made my recovery possible. All the time that I was there, they never made me feel other than I was the most important. This town should be very proud that we have this group of people representing our town.
