Grundlovsfest, the annual celebration that celebrates Dannebrog’s Danish heritage, was held last weekend. Dale and Laurel Christiansen of Dannebrog were this year’s king and queen. Among their duties was to ride in Saturday morning’s parade.

Through August, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission conservation officers will conduct special enforcement patrols focusing on state recreation areas and other Commission-managed properties throughout the state.

The Howard Greeley County Food Pantry will be hosting Summer Lunch Bunch again this summer. The event will be starting on June 3rd and will meet through July 31st. Lunch will be served every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Life Center at 713 Elm Street and the meals are being provided by local organizations. The community of Elba was saddened to learn that Jeff Krzycki passed away on May 25th. On Memorial Day, Arden and Ethel Svoboda and Lavern and Bev Obermeier of Milford and Robert Rasmussen of rural Cotesfield were afternoon coffee guests of Gary and Charlotte Rasmussen at Charlies.

On Memorial Day, Dave and Barbara Tuma attended the dinner at St. Francis Hall in Ashton.
