As of Sunday afternoon, the South Loup River is down sixty-six cubic feet per second (cfs) from last week. The river is now running at 109 cfs. The Middle Loup River is down 214 cfs from last week and is now 519 cfs. The North Loup River is down to 823 cfs, compared to 984 cfs last week, but is coming up from Thursday’s low of 668 cfs.

Don and Kristi Kleinsasser of Elba are adopting a boy from Bulgaria. A fundraiser is being held on Saturday, September 12th, to help the family with expenses associated with the adoption. A free will donation nacho feed and silent auction will be held at the Howard County Fairgrounds from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on September 12th. There will be a bouncy house and baseball toss for the children. There are over twenty-five items on which to bid…“This is a dream of ours that we have wanted to do for some time,” said Don Kleinsasser. “We are the parents of three girls naturally, so we are looking at getting one or two boys from Bulgaria. I was adopted, so it has been in my heart to adopt as well.”
