City to look into sale of properties

concerning divesting the city’s ownership of both the St. Paul landfill site on Twin Forks Lane and the St. Paul Senior Center on Howard Avenue.

The council took no action on determining the future of either site, but St. Paul Mayor Mike Feeken said he would investigate the process necessary to divest the city’s ownership of both properties.

The first discussion came during a report by St. Paul Utilities Superintendent Matt Helzer concerning the two parcels the city owns north of St. Paul on Twin Forks Lane.

FARWELL IRRIGATION DISTRICT IS Drought to impact timing of deliveries this spring As the months move ever closer to irrigation season, members of the Farwell Irrigation District are hard at work. The irrigation district manages a system of canals and laterals responsible for diverting about 85,000 acrefeet of water from the Sherman Reservoir per year to approximately 68,381 acres of farmland in Sherman and Howard counties.

SPHS students earn accolades at state

Multiple members of the St. Paul FFA Chapter competed at the 2026 Nebraska State FFA Convention held March 25th through March 27th in Lincoln. The chapter celebrated as seventeen senior members earned their State FFA Degrees, recognizing years of hard work and dedication. Members who earned their State Degrees included Layne Baker, Drew Becker, Gordon Coxbill, Zandyn Weller, Alex Meinecke, Emersen Hancock, Isabelle Vieth, Matthew Kramer, Covyn Larsen, Bradyn Hazen, Josef Kaslon, Natalia Matlock, Beau Paro, Landyn Rubesh, Grady Ryan, and Carly Stepanek.
