Volunteers with St. Paul Fire and Rescue, officers from the St. Paul Police Department, and deputies with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the intersection of 6th and Kendall streets in St. Paul on April 7th in response to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

I checked the river flows on Sunday morning. The South Loup River is down about ten percent, at 203 cubicfeet- per-second (cfs). The Middle Loup River is up thirty percent from last week, reading 1,150 cfs. The North Loup River is up almost twenty-nine percent, at 737 cfs. The geese are nesting, ducks are flying, and the game camera picked up over forty pelicans on a pond. We went out on the airboat with some grandkids on Sunday. What a beautiful day. I noticed some trees starting to leaf out. I heard the ticks are out and a morel mushroom has been found.

Wendy K. Johnson, a native of Elba and the daughter of Allen and Edna Ingerle of Elba, made history on Saturday, April 2nd, when she became the first woman in the history of the Nebraska Air National Guard to be promoted to the rank of brigadier general. Johnson’s career began in the Nebraska Air National Guard as an enlisted administrative clerk with the 155th Combat Support Squadron in Lincoln in 1984, the year she graduated from Elba High School.

The Howard County Democratic Party will hold its biennial convention, bringing together local leaders, elected officials, and community members for an important gathering, focused on shaping the county party’s direction for the next two years.
