WOLBACH SENIOR CITIZENS GATHER FOR MONTHLY MEETING

The Wolbach Senior Citizens met on May 28th with fourteen guests in attendance. Members played cards and the winners were Mel Fuller, high; Joyce Berney, low; and Dick Peetz, traveling. Bud Vopat had a birthday and members also sang to Mel Fuller, as he won’t be able to join the senior citizens next month. Members of the Wolbach Community Club will meet again on June 25th at 2:00 p.m. at the Wolbach Community Center.

Taken from the files of The Wolbach Messenger Ten Years Ago, 2015 The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced the names of students who have earned a place on the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester. Among the students named to the Dean’s List was Shelby Rother of Wolbach.

As of Sunday evening, the South Loup River is running at 200 cubic feet per second (cfs). Earlier in the week, it was almost 300 cfs. The Middle Loup River is currently at 1,020 cfs; it had a high of 1,380 this week.

Grundlovsfest, the annual celebration that celebrates Dannebrog’s Danish heritage, was held last weekend. Dale and Laurel Christiansen of Dannebrog were this year’s king and queen. Among their duties was to ride in Saturday morning’s parade.

LUNCH BUNCH BEGINS THIS WEEK

The Howard Greeley County Food Pantry will be hosting Summer Lunch Bunch again this summer. The event will be starting on June 3rd and will meet through July 31st. Lunch will be served every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Life Center at 713 Elm Street and the meals are being provided by local organizations.
