Pinewood Derby a Success

BOY SCOUT TROOP 121 held their annual GCA Days Pinewood Derby on Saturday, July 9th at the St. Paul Civic Center Gymnasium. There were seven entries in the Cub Scout Class and twenty-nine in the Open Class. Above, in the Cub Scout Class, at left, Kyle Griebel received third place in the Race Cub Scout Class, Eli Stelk received second place in the Race Cub Scout Class, and Prescott Moorman received first place in the race and Best In Show in the Cub Scout Class. Below, earning an award in the Open Class were, left, Kyle Griebel received third place, Parker Lentz received second place as well as Best In Show in the Open Class, and Greg Stimple received first place. Mobile Food Pantry Returns to Loup City

The Sherman County Food Pantry and Foodbank for the Heartland are pleased to announce the Mobile Food Pantry is returning to Loup City. The Mobile Food Pantry will be held on Saturday, July 23rd from 9:00 a.m. or until food is gone. This time, the event will be held in front of Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership (CNCAP) at 626 “N” St. Anyone can be served; there are no age limits, no income guidelines, or limits on family size. Families from any county may be served. A variety of fresh foods, as well as canned goods, will be pre-packaged for your convenience; individual selection will not be available. We ask that you stay in your vehicle, as this will be a drive-through. Please start lining up on 6th and “N”. The line will go down “N” Street towards Seventh. You will not be allowed to pick up for any other household/families, no exceptions.
