Annual Driving Campaign Underway

Body
Driving is not a video game. There are no second chances when you lose your life. The United States Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the St. Paul Police Department are teaming up to keep drivers and passengers safe, raise awareness of the risks of speeding, and remind them to obey speed limits. If you’re itching to floor it, keep this in mind: In 2020, more than one quarter of all crash fatalities were speeding-related, and there was a dramatic increase (17%) in speeding-related crash fatalities from 2019 until 2020. Showing the law enforcement community’s dedication to protecting the lives of residents in their communities, you’ll see officers working together from July 20th until August 14, 2022 to take speeding drivers off the roads.
