Splash Pad, Playground Projects Move Forward

The longstanding effort to build a splashpad in the Wolbach community took a few steps forward in the month of June, with a new committee being formed aimed at overseeing not only this project but also efforts to replace old playground equipment at the community’s parks.

Crews Battle Grass Fires on Saturday

The St. Paul Volunteer Fire Department was called to a pair of grass fires on Saturday afternoon.

The first call concerned a grass fire located along U.S. Highway 281 south of the Middle Loup River Bridge. 

The initial report was fielded by Howard County Communications at around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Seventy-Seven Turtles Take Part in Annual Races

As one of the many events that took place over the weekend at Wolbach Days, the turtle races were held on Sunday, June 19th, the turtle races were held. In the three-inch-orunder division, Rowdy Urbanski and his turtle, George, took first place with Lydia Studley and her turtle, Frankie, taking second.
