St. Paul home sustains “significant” damage following Sunday night fire

Body
Members of the St. Paul Volunteer Fire Department and EMTs were called out to their first fire of the new year just after midnight on Sunday, January 14th. At about 11:45 p.m., a page came out from the Howard County Communications Center regarding a structure fire at the corner of 7th and L streets in St. Paul. St. Paul firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes.

Boelus News

Body
As of Saturday, the Loup River past our place was all ice, there wasn’t any water flowing. The river flows for both the South and Middle Loup rivers are reading ice. As of Sunday afternoon, the South Loup River gage height in feet was 2.99 and the Middle Loup River was 1.11, nothing unusual for this time of year. We have open water on our big pond due to aerators. Shawn thought there were about 200 geese on it the other day.

Police department completes makeover in 2024

Body
The St Paul Police Department completed a makeover project in the new year, putting some remaining dollars from their tools and equipment budget and a whole lot of elbow grease into a series of office improvements, including a new paint job, the addition of corner protectors to the office’s corners, the purchase of a document organizer, the addition of mailboxes onto employees’ office doors, the creation of an “Officer Wall,” and a few other small enhancements.
