The St. Paul Board of Education met Monday evening. Among their actions was the approval of the purchase of a home near the school, which will be the site for St. Paul’s alternative school. The house at 1222 Grand Street was purchased for a total of $63,845, which includes closing costs. The alternative school is for students in grades seven through twelve who are struggling in a traditional setting. It is estimated that St. Paul currently has two-to-three students who fall in that category. Several other school districts in the area have expressed an interest in contracting for services, which could make the alternative school self-supporting.

As of Sunday evening, the South Loup River is at 132 cfs and the Middle Loup River is at 963 cfs. Both are down from the readings last week. I’m seeing more geese than last week; I’ve not noticed any ducks. I have the tree decorated and some gifts ordered. It wasn’t until I made peanut brittle that Shawn said it’s starting to feel like Christmas.
