The Family of Rosella Hiegel would like to thank everyone for their love and support during the time of her illness and death. Thank you to the staff of CHI Health St. Francis, Good Samaritan Society, and St. Croix Hospice. Thank you also to Pastor Craig Niemeier and the members of Zion Lutheran Church, Worms, for your care and prayers. We rejoice in knowing Mom had placed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and has received her Crown of Life. As of last Thursday morning, the South Loup River was at 183 cfs and the Middle Loup River had a reading of 1,230 cfs. We have an early timeline this week for the paper, and we are having Christmas on Saturday, so I’m writing this on Thursday morning.

STUDENTS SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER

ST. PAUL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL students helped spread some holiday cheer in downtown St. Paul last Friday, the students’ final day of the fall term. Students caroled at three locations last week: the Howard County Courthouse, the office of the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, and the St. Paul Senior Center. Above, fifth grade students are pictured singing carols to visitors of the senior center.

Taken from the files of The Wolbach Messenger Ten Years Ago, 2013 Nebraska Rural Electric Association General Manager Troy Bredenkamp presented an award to General Manager Brian Lukasiewicz for No Lost Time Accident from the Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange at the seventy-seventh annual NREA Statewide Seminar. Howard Greeley Rural Public Power District was presented the award in recognition of its management and employees for their outstanding achievement of an accident-free workplace.
