As of Saturday, the Loup River past our place was all ice, there wasn’t any water flowing. The river flows for both the South and Middle Loup rivers are reading ice. As of Sunday afternoon, the South Loup River gage height in feet was 2.99 and the Middle Loup River was 1.11, nothing unusual for this time of year. We have open water on our big pond due to aerators. Shawn thought there were about 200 geese on it the other day.

Police department completes makeover in 2024

The St Paul Police Department completed a makeover project in the new year, putting some remaining dollars from their tools and equipment budget and a whole lot of elbow grease into a series of office improvements, including a new paint job, the addition of corner protectors to the office’s corners, the purchase of a document organizer, the addition of mailboxes onto employees’ office doors, the creation of an “Officer Wall,” and a few other small enhancements.

SPPS board calls for bond vote

Voters in the St. Paul school district will soon have the chance to weigh on in the first major facilities improvement project at St. Paul Public Schools in over a decade.

Wednesday night, during the St. Paul Board of Education’s regular January meeting, members of the board voted unanimously to approve a resolution to place a $17,975,000 bond issue before voters. The issue will be decided during a special election on March 12, 2024.
