Area groups benefit from Go Big Give

The twelfth annual Go Big Give event closed its annual twenty-four-hour day of giving on May 1st. The event, which is put on by the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation and Heartland United Way, promotes donations to nonprofits in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick counties.

Conservation Blueprint made its way to St. Paul Public Schools last Thursday, where its members spent the afternoon teaching the district’s second grade students about local flora and prairie ecosystems.
WOLBACH SENIOR CITIZENS MEET

The Wolbach Senior Citizens met on April 30th with fifteen guests in attendance. The group was glad to have Dick Peetz back and missed Jan Steenson. Members played pitch. The winners were Mel and Linda Fuller, high; Dick Berney, low; and Irene Walker, traveling. The Wolbach Senior Citizens will meet next on May 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Wolbach Community Center.

Taken from the files of The Wolbach Messenger Ten Years Ago, 2015 Central Valley High School held their first graduation on Saturday afternoon, May 9th, at the Central Valley Auditorium in Greeley. Eighteen members of the Class of 2015 entered the auditorium to Pomp and Circumstance… Trey Nekoliczak, son of Tom and Jackie Nekoliczak, gave the valedictorian address.
Phonograph-Herald earns twenty-three awards

The Phonograph-Herald secured some hardware at the Nebraska Press Association’s 152nd Annual Convention. On April 26th, during the finale of the threeday event, the Phonograph- Herald won twenty-three awards in the association’s Better Newspaper Contest.
