Thursday afternoon, Julie Spilinek visited some friends and acquaintances at the senior center in St. Paul.

Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met at 1:30 p.m. on September 18, 2025, in Aurora. The group first gathered at Susan’s Used Book Store, where they were served coffee and heard Susan’s story. She spoke about her family’s background in teaching and missionary work, some important life losses and lessons, but mostly how her store operates, with thousands of book donations that then are spread far and wide at no cost to churches, prisons, hospitals, summer camps, and many more deserving locations. The little shop is alive with creative walls, toys, and inspirational quotes.

Nebraska’s largest community garage sale kicks off this Friday throughout the area, with some sales already underway. The three day event— which features hundreds of garage, yard, and bake sales full of treasures— officially starts on Friday, September 26th and runs through Sunday.

The Village of Wolbach Received a Grant from Morris Donor Advised Fund of Nebraska Community Foundation that will go towards the new Splash Pad and Playground Equipment..

The Wolbach Senior Citizens met a week earlier this month due to Junk Jaunt. The group gathered at the Wolbach Community Center on September 17th with eight guests present.

The community of Wolbach really came through on the request from the Wolbach American Legion Auxiliary Unit to donate items to the VA Medical Center food pantry in Grand Island. Among the items donated were sixteen soups, twelve canned meats, nine canned fruits, eighty-four canned vegetables, eighteen pasta products, eight pasta sauces, nine Knoor pasta and rice packets, twelve peanut butter, two jelly, fourteen cereals, nine evaporated and nonfat dry milk, and thirteen miscellaneous items.
