County taxpayers will have the opportunity to voice their opinions on the future of the old Howard County Roads Department shop building and yards in St. Paul early next month.
Hearts weren’t the only things full at the St. Paul Community Senior Center on Howard Avenue this Valentine’s Day weekend. Soup bowls and bellies were, too. On Sunday, February 15th, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., people from across the county came together for a Valentine’s Day meal in support of local seniors.

Due to extreme dry conditions and projected winds, Howard County’s fire departments have declared a county-wide burn ban. The ban is to remain in effect until further notice.
River finally thawed. As of Monday morning, the reading is 265 cubic-feet-per-second (cfs). The Middle Loup River is fluctuating, with a reading of 1,710 cfs. The North Loup River has dropped quite a bit since it thawed and is now running 1,240 cfs. The geese have really arrived this past week.
