After having spent last week installing and painting its base, crews with the City of St. Paul and members of the Howard County Historical Society installed the historic “St. Paul” arrow sign outside of the Howard County Historical Village on Monday morning.

THE ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOL cheerleading squad held its mini cheer camp on Friday. The event culminated in a halftime performance during the St. Paul Wildcats’ football game against Adams Central. Sixty-one girls participated in last week’s camp.

If you turn off United States Route 281 at Alexander Avenue north of St. Paul, travel the winding gravel north until it becomes Inman, and then continue in that way for about half a mile, you’ll come across 18th Avenue, a dead-end road nestled between cornfields. Follow it west, and just before its termination, you’ll see a small, blue mailbox marking a narrower, northerly road.
