It has been ten years since the talents of Polish pianist Slawomir Dobrzanski ( Pronounced SWA-VOH-meer DOHBSHUH- in-ski) were presented as a part of the 2012 Polishfest. In October of this year, Ashton’s Polish Heritage Center will sponsor a return concert to be held in the spacious auditorium of the Kearney High School. The afternoon concert will take place at 2:00 p.m. on October 15th and will highlight the works of Polish composers. The concert is open to the public. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. There is no admission, but free-will donations will be accepted. Please enter the building through the main doors on the east side of the school at 2702 W. 11th Street in Kearney.

The South Loup River is down just a little at 103 cfs, and the Middle Loup River at St. Paul is up with a reading of 818 cfs as of Sunday morning. Harvest is going strong. Grain trucks are going by on the highway, along with combines and other harvest equipment.

The Wolbach Community Club will meet on Monday evening, October 9th at 6:00 p.m. at the Wolbach Community Center.

The Wolbach senior citizens met on September 27th. Linda Fuller and Linda Peter won high, Bud Vopat received low, and Bill Swanson won traveling. Marj did visit for a little while. The group’s meeting will be on October 25th at 2:00 p.m.

Wanda Rother hosted the September 28th Town and Country Club at Matelyn in St. Paul.

SEPTEMBER 6, 2023 The Howard County Agricultural Society met on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Howard County Fairgrounds. President Jack Reimers called the meeting to order at 7:47 p.m.

Wednesday, October 4th Howard County Agricultural Society – 7:30 p.m. – The Howard County Agricultural Society will hold its October meeting at the Extension building at the Howard County Fairgrounds.
