CARE Team hosts second annual Mental Health Mile in Dannebrog The local Community Activists Reaching Everyone (CARE) Team held their second annual Mental Health Mile walk over the weekend. Inaugurated last year and held every year on the Sunday following Labor Day, the CARE Team event seeks to raise awareness about mental health issues and ways to combat them.

The first ever Cairo, Dannebrog, Boelus Passport program concluded last Tuesday, September 3rd. Created by the Cairo Steering Committee— a committee commissioned by the Cairo village board to “bring awareness about and do small projects throughout Cairo”—and promoted by the Cairo Community Foundation, the passport program encouraged participants to stop by local businesses in the three communities over the summer and to stamp passports for a chance to win prizes.

Taken from the files of The Wolbach Messenger Ten Years Ago, 2014 Central Valley will open its fall sports season this week. The newly formed school district, a consolidation of Greeley-Wolbach Public Schools and North Loup-Scotia Public Schools, will be known as the Cougars and will have school colors of navy blue and charcoal gray.
