The Pat Mudloff memorial gate shack at Grover Cleveland Alexander Field in St. Paul underwent a full restoration earlier this month, a project that a representative with the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 says will help preserve a key part of the ballpark for years to come.
New flagpole erected at ballfields

County approves CUP for 750-head feedlot

Many items were covered during the June 23rd regular meeting of the Howard County Board of Commissioners last week. Among them, a conditional use permit (CUP) was approved for the Blase feedlot, parking arrangements for vehicles used by Midland Transport were discussed, the commissioners approved the purchase of backup equipment for the Howard/Nance County Communications Center after a recent outage, the board transferred proceeds from the sale of the county’s former roads building into the county’s Inheritance Fund, and Luke Bonkiewicz with the Nebraska Association of County Officials (NACO) dropped by to inform the commissioners of some of the goings-on within NACO and the state legislature.
Lunch Bunch once again making an impact

The Howard Greeley Food Pantry’s Lunch Bunch program is once again serving free lunches to children at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Parish Life Center, continuing a summer tradition aimed at ensuring kids have access to a nutritious midday meal while school is out.
