The June 17th joint meeting of the Ray Mapes Legion Post 236 and Auxiliary Unit 236 was called to order by Auxiliary President Jan Steenson. In attendance were seven Legion members, one member of the Sons of the American Legion, and seven Auxiliary members.

Wolbach residents and visitors alike are preparing for a weekend of family fun and hometown spirit. The community’s annual Wolbach Days celebration is set to make a splash this Friday through Sunday, June 27th until June 29th, with a packed schedule of events all three days.

Sunday morning, the South Loup River’s flows were at 200 cubic-feet-per-second (cfs), compared to 238 cfs last week. The Middle Loup River is up, reading 1,200 cfs, while last week it was 973 cfs. The North Loup River this past week had a couple large days, with flows over 4,000 cfs. The North Loup River is now down to 986 cfs. What wind and high temperatures we’ve had the last few days!

Mark and Judy Dugan attended the state girls’ softball tournament in Hastings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Julie Spilinek attended the St.

Greg and Vicki Keep attended Tucker Killinger’s baseball game in Riverdale late Thursday afternoon. Dave and Barbara Tuma attended a meeting in Hastings on Tuesday afternoon and also visited Stefanie Tuma.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank all of my family members, including in-laws and out-laws, for helping me with the Celebration of Life for my beloved husband, Roger Klein. To Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul for the caring and loving assistance in making all the service plans go so smoothly, and to Vicar Abigail Vetick for your comforting and professional graveside services. Also, a big thank you to Wegner Monument of Central City for the beautiful monument that perfectly matched our other family members’ monuments. Teresa’s Floral of St. Paul, your floral pieces were gorgeous, and everyone told us so. The Wolbach American Legion and the United States Navy Funeral Honors Team, did a spectacular job of honoring Roger for his military service. And a very special thank you to the Nebraska American Legion Riders for the wonderful escort from St. Paul to Wolbach and your class act presence in the cemetery as a sharp honor guard. With everyone’s help, I was able to bring Roger home to his beloved Wolbach. Love to all, Sue Klein
