Career fair features strong participation

Approximately 310 students from St. Paul, Centura, and Elba public schools participated in this year’s Howard County College/Career/ Military/Patrol Fair at St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS) on Wednesday, September 24th. There, students from the county’s three districts explored their futures at roughly thirty booths set up by colleges, universities, technical schools, local and area employers, and several branches of the armed forces.

As of Sunday morning, the South Loup River has been dropping all week. It now is at 157 cubic-feet-per-second (cfs), down from 226 cfs last week. The Middle Loup River at St. Paul’s has dropped and risen and now is at 1,270 cfs, which is not a lot different from last Sunday. The North Loup River is down from last week, with a reading of 1,150 cfs. A few days ago, Shawn saw something in the grass by our smaller pond. He discovered ten quail.
