City of St. Paul, SPDC Conducting Needs Survey

The City of St. Paul is applying to renew its Leadership Certified Community designation from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. A requirement for the application process is gathering public input regarding the satisfaction within the community with various services and amenities. A Community Needs Survey is used to gather input from residents. The city is encouraging all residents to complete this brief survey. The survey is available online using the following link: https:// www. surveymonkey. com/r/StPaul2023. This survey link will remain open until March 1, 2023.

UNMC Announces Fall Deans List

The University of Nebraska Medical Center has announced its fall 2022 dean’s list for students enrolled in nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, and the allied health professions. To qualify for the dean’s list, nursing and the allied health students must be enrolled in twelve or more hours during the semester and have a grade point average of 3.75 or above.

As I expected, both the South Loup River and Middle Loup River are listed as “ice” again. I did notice the river appears to be rising some, so there could be a jam somewhere downstream. When I looked at the gauge height, though, we are a long way from any flooding.

Days Gone By

Ten Years Ago, 2013 Many people did a double-take on Thursday when a steer made its way down Howard Avenue in St. Paul. Jeff Christensen of Twin Loups Quality Meats was in hot pursuit as an animal went by The Phonograph-Herald office. The steer eventually crossed Highway 281 and was stopped at the Frank and Connie Beck residence east of St. Paul.
