Thanks to the generous donations of community members and contributions from the Wolbach Suburban Rural Fire District, the Wolbach Volunteer Fire Department and EMTs recently purchased a Stryker Power-PRO XT ambulance cot and fastener system. In an interview last week, Captain Rick Brown said the purchase would make it easier for local the EMTs to transport individuals to the ambulance during emergency calls.

Nebraska’s largest garage sale celebrates its twentieth anniversary this month. The annual Junk Jaunt, which is scheduled to run from Friday, September 22nd through Sunday, September 24th this year, will likely see tens of thousands of shoppers stopping by hundreds of vendors in communities dotted around its “looping route” along Nebraska highways 91, 11, and 2. From its origins as a project of the Loup Rivers Scenic Byway Association’s tourism committee in the early aughts, Junk Jaunt quickly grew into an independently operated 501(c)4 of its own.

ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOL’S 2023 Homecoming King and Queen were crowned on Friday night. Ashton Meinecke, the son of Jason and Sally Meinecke, was crowned king and Karlie Vieth, the daughter of Jason and Betsy Vieth and the late Jon Jerabek, was crowned queen.
