As of Sunday morning, both rivers are down a bit. The South Loup River is at 149 cfs and the Middle Loup River is at 1,020 cfs. I’m still seeing some ice in the river, but again it is flowing nicely. We see eagles fly along the river quite frequently, and the geese stop in the pond most days. I’m still not tired of watching them set their wings and float on in. Not seeing much for ducks.

Commissioners move forward with designs for roads shop

As the year approaches its end, Howard County is finishing up a longstanding project and in the preliminary stages of some new ones. During the Howard County Commissioners’ second regular meeting of the month of November last Tuesday, the commissioners met with Jerry Berggren, principal architect of Berggren Architects, about concerns regarding a change order for the courthouse steps project, accepted a quote for the refurbishment of the county’s Little Sherman tower, and accepted plans for the new county yards at the Howard County Fairgrounds.

Taken from the files of The Wolbach Messenger Ten Years Ago, 2013 Businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals created buildings in Wolbach as part of a Christmas Village that is on display at the Wolbach Community Center. The village, which lines the walls of the center, was displayed last Sunday for the wine tasting event and will be on display this Sunday during the many activities planned for Santa’s annual visit to Wolbach.
