The St. Paul Board of Education met Monday evening. Among their actions was the approval of the purchase of a home near the school, which will be the site for St. Paul’s alternative school. The house at 1222 Grand Street was purchased for a total of $63,845, which includes closing costs. The alternative school is for students in grades seven through twelve who are struggling in a traditional setting. It is estimated that St. Paul currently has two-to-three students who fall in that category. Several other school districts in the area have expressed an interest in contracting for services, which could make the alternative school self-supporting.
