Sunday evening, the South Loup River was flowing at 294 cfs, up from last week’s 206 cfs. The Middle Loup River was 860 cfs, about a third lower than the 1,400 cfs last Sunday. Our prairie hay is baled, my lilies are blooming, and the lightning bugs are really putting on a show at night.

The summer reading program at the St. Paul library will come to an end this week. Science was front and center, as the children were encouraged to explore the many aspects of science. On Thursday, Bubble Master Jessica Brook of the Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora presented the science of bubbles to the children...Addyson Wegner stood inside of a bubble during the presentation. She is the daughter of Rob and Autumn Wegner of St. Paul.

To Taylor and Beth Hencey of Chadron, Nebraska, a boy, Bryson Taylor, was born on June 26, 2024. Bryson weighed in at 8 lbs. 2 oz. He joins brothers Grayson and Carson. Grandparents are Brad and Ann Hencey of Chadron and Loren and Barb Wroblewski of St. Paul.
