A sincere thank you for all the cards, calls, flowers, visits, and gifts I received for my ninetieth birthday. I will always remember the enjoyable memories they created. State patrol completes holiday enforcement

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested ninety-five impaired drivers during the end of the year Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign ran from December 11th through January 1st.
Area students earn diplomas from UNL

The University of Nebraska– Lincoln conferred 1,149 degrees during commencement exercises December 20th and 21st at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The degrees were earned by 1,132 graduates from forty-one countries, forty United States states, and 150-plus Nebraska communities.

Elba’s Rasmussen retires from public service

Last Thursday, December 26th, in the assembly room of the Howard County Courthouse, County Commissioner Gary Rasmussen was recognized for his twelve years of service to Howard County. Prior to his 2021–2024 tenure, Rasmussen had served as a commissioner for the county for two consecutive terms in the early aughts, from 2001– 2004 and 2005–2008.
