The fall sports season is just days away from getting underway, and ahead of the 2025 campaigns for volleyball, softball, cross country, and girls’ golf, area athletes had a chance to see just who they would be competing against this season.

Down to their final three outs and trailing 4-0, the St. Paul Seniors defied the odds last Saturday in Sutton when they erupted for five seventh-inning runs to snatch a dramatic 5-4 victory over Pender in the opening round of the Nebraska American Legion Class C State Baseball Tournament.
For the St. Paul Seniors, the month of July started with a loss to Dannebrog- Cairo-Boelus (DCB), which was part of a three-game losing skid. Since that point, Post 119 has caught fire and won four consecutive games, including a 9-1 revenge victory over DCB in the first round of the Area C-6 Tournament last Friday.
