Commissioner Urges Caution During Harvest

Body
A brief meeting of the Howard County Board of Commissioners opened on Tuesday, October 11th with some remarks from Howard County Chairman Dave Boehle, who advised drivers to use caution as harvest continues. “Harvest is in full progress. We know that,” Boehle said. “I want to encourage everyone to take extra caution in traveling our county roads and highways. Watch out for slow-moving, large harvest equipment and trucks. “Personally, I would urge our truck drivers and equipment operators to have all their warning lights operating properly. And take a deep breath and slow down just a little bit on the county roads.” One of the primary complaints county officials hear, the chairman noted, concerns heavy machinery moving “at fairly fast speeds on gravel roads.”
