Centurions prep for upcoming season

Band camp concluded for students at Centura Public Schools last Friday. Over the course of four days and approximately twenty hours, many of the Burgundy and Gray’s 2023–2024 high school band members (as well as a “couple of eighth-grade trombone players) received an opportunity to hone their parade marching and pep band skills in preparation for their upcoming performance seasons.

Fischer discusses Farm Bill, other policy during visit to St. Paul

Following a tour of St. Paul and a stop at the St. Paul Civic Center in which she had received an update from several community leaders, United States Senator Deb Fischer made a brief stop-in at the Phonograph-Herald’s offices last week, where she had spoken with Publisher Michael Happ about the Farm Bill, broadband access, recruiting and retention by local law enforcement, and her favorite salad dressing.

BROOKEFIELD PARK’S BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASH

THERE WAS PLENTY OF FUN to be had at Brookefield Park’s Back-to-School Bash, which was held on Friday afternoon on the facility’s St. Paul campus. In addition to a food truck and games, there was also live music provided by Modern Kowboy. Above, Brookefield Park Life Enrichment Coordinator Melissa Butt leads a group of participants in dancing to a rendition of “Baby Shark.”

Delta Kappa Gamma Society holds meeting

Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG) Society International met on June 15, 2023 at Ashton and Farwell, hosted by Group Two’s Charlotte Rasmussen, Theda VanHorn, and Ann Bjorklund. Eleven members met at the Polish Heritage Museum in Ashton and were greeted by Phyllis Piechota, advocate of the museum and community host for the visit. She invited Kappa members to have kolaches and coffee.
