Wolbach was the site of the Wolbach Sand Volleyball Tournament over Memorial Day weekend, sponsored by Wolbach Parks and Recreation. Overall, eleven teams entered the latespring tournament, which ran from 9:00 a.m until 6:00 p.m.

It took all seven innings to decide a winner in last Thursday’s meeting between St. Paul and the Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley (PWG) Seniors. St. Paul came into the matchup unbeaten but were handed their first loss of the season due to some late-game heroics and a walk-off hit by PWG’s Cohen Grossart, 5-4.

Heading into the last event of the 2023 Nebraska School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships, the Central Valley Cougars were already riding high. A slew of medals and a series of impressive performances were the result of a standout two days at Omaha’s Burke Stadium.

Area Students Earn Degrees from UNL

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred a record 3,753 degrees during commencement exercises May 19th and 20th. The 3,669 graduates are from fifty-nine countries; forty-seven states, the District of Columbia and Guam; and more than 240 Nebraska communities.
