A capital campaign being pioneered to ensure that residents of St. Paul have access to childcare and preschool education received a major boost last week.
After thirteen years away, St. Paul High Schools (SPHS) alumnus Devin Solko is once again donning the Wildcats’ Blue and Gold. The 2011 graduate of the district and St. Paul native returned to his alma mater this academic year as an educator, teaching seventh-through-twelfthgrade social studies.

The Centura High School Class of 1968 celebrated their fifty-fifth class reunion on August 18th and 19th, within the traditions their class set for the school in 1968. The class celebrates their reunion for two days, which makes it easier to have a larger attendance.
On September 8th, Sheelytown will be the headline entertainment for the fourteenth annual Polish Fest in Ashton…Another highlight of this year’s Polish Fest will be an educational presentation at 3:00 p.m. at the church by Laura Anderson. Anderson, formerly of Farwell, is working with the Polish Heritage Center to expand their genealogical resources. She has collected a database representing over 20,000 names of Polish ancestors from throughout central Nebraska. She will outline her work and research methods and will discuss highlights of Polish settlement in the area. Her database will be added to the collection of written family histories at the center…where it will be available to researchers and visitors wishing to add to the collection.
We can really tell that the Loup River is down, and the reading confirms it. As of Sunday, the South Loup River was at 74.3 cfs, down about a fourth since last week, and the Middle Loup River by St. Paul is down almost half, at 481 cfs.
