Davis aims to inspire students

St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS) seventh-throughtwelfth graders spent sixth period last Wednesday in the high school gym, where professional speaker and attitude expert Aaron Davis, who had been a member of the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers’ 1994 championship football team, spoke to them about the importance of having a “Champion Attitude.”

THREE AREA BANDS— Centura, Elba, and St. Paul— stepped off on Saturday morning as a part of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Harvest of Harmony Parade. This year’s parade featured over ninety bands. In total, the eighty-first iteration of the event included 203 entries. Above, members of the St. Paul Marching Band make their way down Third Street. After more than three decades, Obermeier retires

Lee Obermeier retired on September 29th after just under thirty-five years of employment with Howard Greeley Rural Public Power District (RPPD). Obermeier had served as operations manager at Howard Greeley for the past sixteen years, in which capacity he had led the operations of the power district’s thirteen field employees and five office employees and interacted with customers throughout the district’s coverage area in Howard and Greeley counties.
